Samuel Kelham, aged 34, has been jailed for twelve months after pleading guilty to possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, possessing a firearm and ammunition following a suspended prison sentence and possessing Class A drugs. In June 2023, Kelham discharged a blank-firing gun on his driveway in Brinsley, Nottinghamshire and made a social media video of himself firing the weapon from an open window of his parked car. Armed police responded and a police dog found Callum hiding on nearby farmland. Officers recovered one 9mm cartridge casing in his vehicle and another in the garden of a property on his street, as well as a box of blank firing ammunition from inside his home. The gun was not found. The court heard that Callum, who was under the influence of drugs and suffering acute mental distress on the day of the offences, had only meant for police officers to see the weapon. He admitted the first charge on the basis that he at no time intended to cause fear to the general public.
