Police officers searching two properties in Rochdale, Greater Manchester recovered cannabis, suspected Class A drugs, drug supply paraphernalia, more than £15,000 in cash, criminal property assets, a knuckleduster, two extendable batons, a gun and ammunition. A woman was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drug supply and possession of a firearm.

It has emerged that, in September 2023, police officers raided an address in Birmingham, West Midlands and recovered a loaded handgun from a bedroom. A teenage boy has now been charged with possession of a firearm. His arrest was made as part of Operation Target — a police crackdown on serious and organised crime in the West Midlands.

Paramedics gave advanced life support to a teenage boy found with serious gunshot wounds in Birmingham, West Midlands. The victim, transferred to hospital in a critical condition, died from his injuries two days later. A teenage male has since been arrested in connection with the shooting.

After receiving a tip-off about a cannabis grow, police officers searched a property in Stoke, Staffordshire and recovered cannabis and PAVA spray. A woman was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with possession of a Class B drug and possession of a firearm without a certificate.

Sam Marston, aged 23, has been jailed for 20 months for possession of an imitation firearm and ammunition, while his co-defendant, 20-year-old Kai Edwards, was handed a suspended one-year prison term and 150 hours of unpaid work for the first offence only. In May 2023, two groups of males fled after a firearm was fired in Prescot, Merseyside. Marston and Edwards were identified as being involved shortly afterwards. No one was injured during the incident.

A man was treated in hospital after being shot in the leg on a street in Speke, Merseyside. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Police officers are examining CCTV from the area and undertaking forensic examinations and house-to-house enquiries.
