After stopping a car on the M6 near Catterall, Lancashire, police officers recovered a sawn-off shotgun and a quantity of cannabis from the vehicle. A man and a teenage boy were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and possession of drugs with intent to supply.

Armed police officers were deployed following reports of a person making threats with a gun in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. After a search of nearby properties, officers recovered a suspected air-powered weapon and arrested a man on suspicion of affray.

Armed police officers responded following reports of a man with a gun on a street in Peckham, South London. A man, found at the scene, was taken to hospital for treatment for a gunshot wound to his arm. No arrests have yet been made.

Detectives appealed for information after patrol officers found five suspected self-loading pistols and ammunition inside a backpack in Liverpool, Merseyside. The weapons will be examined by specialist officers to see whether they are viable.

A man suffered a serious injury to his neck after being shot with a BB gun in Bradford, West Yorkshire. It is believed that the weapon was fired from a building. Three women have since been arrested on suspicion of assault.

Police officers seized a BB gun at a betting shop in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. The weapon had reportedly been left there by an injured man trying to escape a group of people following him after an earlier incident. No arrests have yet been made.

Wayne Harvey, aged 45, has been handed a suspended 20-month prison term and ordered to complete 30 programme sessions and a six-month alcohol treatment requirement after admitting assault with an air rifle causing actual bodily harm, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, assault causing actual bodily harm and assault. In May 2023, Harvey shot his wife in the leg with an air rifle at their home in Lydney, Gloucestershire. He also held a blowtorch near her head and threatened to burn their house down. The court heard that Harvey had bullied and controlled his wife, and made numerous threats to kill her, over a long period, committing many offences while drunk. The judge made Harvey the subject of a ten-year restraining preventing him from direct contact with his wife.

Police officers in Crewe, Cheshire arrested a man in relation to the attempted purchase of a gun. The suspect has since been charged with conspiracy to possess a firearm without a certificate.

Following reports of a man with a gun at an address in Piddlehinton, Dorset, police officers seized an air weapon and arrested the suspect for possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. There have been no reports of any injuries.

Robert Fuller, aged 50 and from Barton Turf, Norfolk, has been jailed for twelve years for “masterminding” an international drugs plot that involved using recovery trucks and couriers disguised as Deliveroo drivers. His plans were uncovered after the criminal messaging network, Encrochat, was decrypted in 2020. Fuller’s messages revealed he had been involved with selling and distributing almost £7million worth of cocaine and cannabis and planned to buy a Russian Makarov handgun, import liquid cocaine from Peru in jars of asparagus and launder illicit money through his car sales business. After fleeing to Bali, Fuller tried to return to the UK via Ireland. He was arrested after arriving by ferry in Anglesey.
