Police appealed for information after a group of males on bikes allegedly fired a gun at the door of a property in Kirkby, Merseyside. Click on media link to read full report.

Damaine Sculley, aged 30, has been jailed for life after being found guilty of murder. In April 2028, Sculley used a self-loading pistol to fatally shoot a man who was sitting in his car in a car park in Birmingham, West Midlands. The victim was shot from behind at near point-bank range. The court heard that Sculley and two others had travelled to the car park to meet three other men for an unknown reason but one which was "likely about serious criminality” and that the meeting had been “facilitated by a group of prison inmates who made phone calls from their cells”. Sculley was arrested in 2022 through DNA found in a glove left at the scene and after being tracked on CCTV.

Armed police officers responded following an altercation between armed men in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. A teenage male was treated in hospital for serious injuries. A man has since been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.

A swan is recovering after being shot in the head at a park in Clapham Common, South London. After an RSPCA officer rescued the injured bird, an X-Ray revealed it had been shot with a suspected airgun.

Armed police officers were deployed following a report of a person with a gun in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Two teenage males were arrested: one, on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, throwing fireworks and possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place and, the other, on suspicion of possession of a firearm, possession of an imitation firearm and throwing fireworks.

Following an attempted robbery in Northampton and offences relating to a kidnap in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, a man has been charged with two counts of attempted robbery, kidnap, possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and threatening a person with a blade/sharply pointed object in a public place. Alban Rianga, aged 22, has been jailed for eight years after pleading guilty to possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of ammunition without a firearms certificate and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply. In May 2023, police searched Rianga’s flat in Bradford, West Yorkshire and discovered a revolver with five rounds of compatible ammunition and heroin with street value of just over £24,000. Rianga’s DNA was recovered from the items.

Kian Durnin, 22, Martinho De-Sousa, 24, and Tireq McIntosh, 23, have each been jailed for 23 years after being found guilty of attempted murder and aggravated vehicle taking. In May 2023, the three men were in a stolen car from which McIntosh and you Durnin fired shots towards rival gang members on a street in Wolverhampton, West Midlands. Two children in a nearby playground were shot and injured in the legs. Both victims recovered from their physical injuries but the mother of one said that her child suffered post-traumatic stress disorder.

Police officers responded following reports that a man fled by car after firing shots towards a group of men in Manchester. No arrests have yet been reported. 

A man has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear and assault occasioning actual bodily harm following an incident last month during which a person was threatened with a fake gun in Morecambe, Lancashire. Three other people were charged with the second offence only.
