Armed police officers responded to reports of a man armed with a knife at a property in Easington, Colliery, Co. Durham. Following a stand-off, officers arrested the suspect and seized a crossbow, firearm and knife. There were no reports of any injuries.

After a member of the public reported seeing a person in possession of a gun in Llanidloes, Powys, police officers arrested one man on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm and two other men in connection with the incident. It is believed that armed officers responded to the report.

Armed police officers were deployed following reports of a man being assaulted and threatened with a firearm at a property in Birmingham, West Midlands. A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and assault.

Christopher McKenzie, aged 37, was jailed for ten years after pleading guilty to possession of two firearms and ammunition with intent to endanger life, possession of firearms when a prohibited person and possession with intent to supply heroin. McKenzie, who was out of prison on licence at the time of offending, was arrested after police officers recovered two handguns, (a Zoraki 914 handgun and a Colt .25 self-loading pistol), two magazines, two rounds of ammunition, ballistic body armour and Class A drugs at his home in Croydon, South London. Furthermore, incriminating messages found on McKenzie’s phone revealed he was “sleeping with a gun at his bedside table”.

After police officers seized two guns at a property in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, a man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm without a certificate. Click on media link to read full report.

A delivery driver was reportedly threatened by a youth brandishing a suspected firearm after he dropped off a takeaway at a property in Edinburgh, Scotland. The youth and another teenager then stole the victim’s phone and keys and drove off on his moped. Police issued a description of the suspects and appealed for information, particularly from those with CCTV or dash-cam footage.

A man died in hospital almost a week after being shot in the face at his flat in Liverpool, Merseyside. A man has since been charged with murder. Police believe the shooting was a targeted attack.

Following reports of a man pointing a firearm out of the window of a property in Spalding, Lincolnshire, police officers recovered a BB gun and arrested three men. There were no reports of any injuries.

Police officers responding to reports of a man with a firearm in Poole, Dorset, seized two BB guns. A man was cautioned at the scene for possession of an imitation firearm in a public place.
