Armed police officers were deployed following a report of a man carrying a gun in Newport, South Wales. A man and a teenage boy were arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.

Following reports of a gun discharge and a car being set alight in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, police officers found damage to a property’s windows consistent with a firearm being used. No injuries were reported.

As part of an operation designed to disrupt serious organised crime and the supply of drugs and firearms, police officers carried out warrants at properties in Liverpool, Merseyside. Three people were subsequently charged with firearm offences: a man, with conspiring with others to possess ammunition without a firearm certificate; a woman, with conspiring with others to own a firearm without authority, namely, a Skorpion machine pistol; and a second woman, with conspiring to own a firearm without a certificate. The man and one of the women also face drug offence charges.

Armed police officers responding to reports of a person spotted with a gun in Romiley, Greater Manchester, detained a man at the scene and seized an imitation firearm. The man was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.

A man from Thetford, Norfolk has been charged with possession of a Taser, possession of a shotgun without a valid licence, being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession with intent to supply cocaine, cannabis and MethAmphet, and possession of criminal property. Armed police officers were deployed following a report of a firearm discharge in Dagenham, East London. Those believed to be involved had left the scene before officers arrived and no arrests have yet been reported. No one was injured.

Armed police officers were deployed following reports that a man had been threatened by three people at a property in North Shields, Tyne & Wear. It is believed that all parties were known to each other. A woman and two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, while a third man was held for possession of a firearm without a valid firearms certificate. No injuries were reported.
