A bus driver has posted a report online of a male passenger pointing a gun at his head after he stopped his vehicle in Wood Green, North London. A police spokesperson confirmed that an investigation has been opened.

An inquest into the death of a man at his home in Wallingford, Oxfordshire in November 2023 has been opened and adjourned. It is believed that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A full inquest has been listed for April 2024.

Following a report of “an altercation involving males with weapons” in Stockton, Co. Durham, police confirmed that a man had suffered an injury to his head, believed to have been caused by an air rifle. His injuries are not thought to be serious. Ten people have since been arrested in connection with the incident.

Patrick Johnson, aged 28, has been jailed for ten months after pleading guilty to possession of an imitation firearm, going equipped to steal and two counts each of burglary and theft. In October 2023, Johnson stole bottles of drink, a Bluetooth speaker, keys and a safe from a hotel in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion. Over the following two days, he stole a charity collection box from a supermarket and a jacket from an outdoor wear shop. A few days later, police officers searched Johnson after spotting him outside a pub, wearing the stolen jacket. They recovered a screwdriver and an “old-style flintlock pistol” from his holdall and gloves, pliers and a suspected stolen T-shirt from the lining of the jacket.

A teenage woman was treated in hospital after suffering a firearm injury during a clay pigeon shooting event at a gun club in Tarbert, Kintyre. Police do not believe there were any suspicious circumstances.

A fox has been put down after being shot with an air rifle in Eastbourne, East Sussex. After it was found, collapsed, the fox was taken to a wildlife sanctuary where X-rays revealed an air gun pellet lodged in its mouth. It is believed that the fox was shot some time ago and had developed an infection from the wound. The incident has been reported to police.

Police officers seized ammunition and more than 100 weapons, including air pistols and air rifles, from a property in Sudbrooke, Lincolnshire. A man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of the illegal sale of firearms, including dealing without a licence.

Watford Observer
A man allegedly approached a 12-year-old girl in Watford, Hertfordshire and held a suspected imitation handgun to her chest before stealing her phone. He went on to force a second victim to drive to an ATM and withdraw cash, while items including an iPhone, a jacket, trainers and headphones were stolen from a third victim. Police have issued a description of the suspect and appealed for information.

Police attended a fast-food restaurant in Gwent after staff there reported a drink-driver. The man was Tasered and arrested after being found in possession of a weapon in a public place. Stolen items were recovered after the man’s vehicle was linked to high-value thefts.
