Mohammed Meah, 35, Ikhlaas Hussain, 24, and Adil Hussain, 30, have been jailed for a total of six years after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm in public. In April 2023, detectives discovered that a shotgun wrapped in a rug was picked up by a taxi occupied by Ikhlaas Hussain in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. After the rug was transferred to another car occupied by Meah and Adil Hussain, firearms officers stopped the vehicle and arrested the two men. Ikhlaas Hussain was later arrested at his home address. Meah was sentenced to one year and ten months in prison, while Ikhlaas Hussain and Adil Hussain received two years, three months and one year, eleven months, respectively. Meah and Ikhlaas Hussain were also sentenced for the possession of cannabis.

Police officers responded after a man was seen carrying a gun in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. The alleged offender was arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm. 

Police officers responding to reports of an altercation at a property in Southampton, Hampshire found a woman had suffered a suspected firearm injury to her arm. A man has since been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

A man self-presented at a hospital after being shot in Birmingham, West Midlands. His condition is not thought to be life threatening. No arrests have yet been reported.

Police appealed for information after shots fired from a car in Rotherham, South Yorkshire smashed the window of another car. Both vehicles left the scene after the shooting. No injuries have been reported.

Police officers executing a drug warrant at a property in Southend, Essex recovered a gun. Two men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs and possession of a firearm.

Following a tip off from the community, police officers recovered drugs, guns, a weapon and stolen items from a property in Thamesmead, East London. A man and woman were arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A and Class B drugs, possession of firearms, possession of an offensive weapon and handling stolen goods.

Armed police officers responded after a man armed with a crossbow, sword and hatchet reportedly forced his way into a home in Southwark, South London and threatened people inside, as well as local police officers who tried to speak with him. Firearms officers entered the property and shot the man, two shots being fired. Emergency first aid was given but the man died at the scene. The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct. It is believed that the man was known to at least one of the occupants.

A man was treated in hospital after being shot in Harlesden, North London. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. No arrests have yet been made.
