A teenage girl was hit by a pellet from a BB gun as she
walked across a bridge in the centre of Scarborough, North Yorkshire. She felt
a sharp pain in her arm and found a pellet on the floor nearby and police are
appealing for witnesses.

Owen Humphreys, 22, was given a twelve month jail
sentence suspended for a year with a four-month night-time curfew, after a
police firearms team was called to Tonypandy, Glamorgan, when Humphreys was
seen using what was found to be an imitation firearm to release the car he had
crashed into a bollard in a supermarket car park.
