After armed police officers supported a raid on a property in Stoke, Staffordshire, a man was arrested on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal, driving a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and possessing a firearm without a certificate. Click on media link to read full report.

Morgan Dellerue, aged 43, has been sentenced to 28 weeks in prison, reduced for time spent on remand, after pleading guilty to possession of a modified air rifle with intent to cause fear of violence. In October 2023, Dellerue went to a neighbour's flat in Mevagissey, Cornwall to complain about noise. When the woman opened the door, she saw him carrying an Airsoft rifle, painted black to make it look realistic. The woman alerted the police and armed officers arrested Dellerue. The court heard that the victim now needs to take sleeping tablets and is concerned about going out if Dellerue is in the building. A five-year restraining order was also imposed, preventing Dellerue from approaching his victim.

Police officers conducting dawn raids at seven addresses in Wigan, Greater Manchester seized a quantity of cannabis, suspected cocaine, an imitation firearm and ammunition. Click on media link to read full report.

Armed police officers were deployed following reports of a man seen with a gun in Brighton, East Sussex. An imitation firearm was recovered and the man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

After the windows of a property in Weymouth, Dorset were shot at on two occasions, an imitation firearm was seized from three teenage boys. The youths will be attending a voluntary police interview in connection with the incidents.

A teenage male suffered an ankle wound, believed to have been caused by a firearm, as he was out walking in Stockton, Co. Durham. Police appealed for information, saying they believe the incident was a targeted attack.

Barney Moore, aged 39, has been fined £120 and ordered to pay £95 compensation after pleading guilty to having offensive weapons, criminal damage to a police vehicle and possession of cannabis. After being called to a domestic incident, police officers searched Moore’s home in Hethersett, Norfolk and recovered an extendable baton, three knuckle dusters, a flick knife and a Taser.

Police officers, paramedics and fire crews responded following a report of a man with a gun at a property in Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex. After several hours, the man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm.

Harvey McQuilling, aged 19, has been jailed for three years after admitting possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition without a licence. In April 2022, police officers seized a homemade slam gun from a caravan in the back garden of McQuilling’s home in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, while a round of ammunition fired from the gun was found nearby. McQuilling’s DNA was recovered from the weapon. He is currently serving a prison sentence for drug offences and violent incidents involving a machete.
