A man was shot dead as he was driving in Halewood, Merseyside. He was killed by a bullet through the windscreen in what police believe to be a targeted attack. The man's car crashed into another vehicle following the attack. A man has now been charged with murder (BBC, 29 February 2008).

A man was reported carrying a pistol in a pub in Swindon. A man was arrested on suspicion of the possession of a firearm and is on bail while the gun is checked to see if it is an imitation.

Two women workers in a Hastings off licence were confronted by a man pointing a handgun at them. They were so frightened they were unable to work the till and the would-be robber fled empty-handed.

The wife of a man who died after being found with gunshot wounds in their bedroom in Fenstanton, near Cambridge, was being questioned by police. The man has been described as a gun enthusiast and is believed to have suffered wounds from a shotgun. The woman has been granted bail to be answered in March (BBC, 1 February 2008).

A group of three teenagers fired a ball-bearing gun at a bus as it waited at a stop in Bamber Bridge. The blast of the pellet made a hole in a window. Several passengers were on the bus but escaped uninjured.

A group of new age travellers camped on the edge of Highworth, Wiltshire, were subjected to an attack with what they believe was an air rifle. The shooting happened when they set up camp last month.
