A man was confronted by two men with a gun, possibly a shotgun, on his doorstep in Southey Green, Sheffield. They demanded cash but the man slammed his door and the offenders ran off without opening fire.

Three men, one armed with a gun, demanded money from a shopkeeper in Huddersfield. The woman's husband walked into the shop and tried to push the gun away, but was punched in the face. The thieves tried to steal the till, but failed and stole cigarettes.

Bolton News
A boy held a gun to the heads of two women during two separate robberies in Bolton. In the first incident the victim was also sexually assaulted. The offender opened the passenger door of her car, sat down and threatened to shoot her if she protested. He stole her purse and a handbag from the second victim. He is believed to be aged between 14 and 16 (Bolton News, 19 January 2008).

James Kerr, 18, will serve at least 13 years in jail for the murder of a grandfather whom he repeatedly shot in the head with his airgun. The murder took place at the home of the victim, a pensioner aged 72, in Winchburgh, West Lothian in August 2007 (see Incidents).

A shop worker was held up at gunpoint at a Blackpool convenience store. The gunman shoved a shotgun into the face of the sales assistant. He demanded money and got away with a small amount of cash.
