Daoud Khan has pleaded guilty to kidnap, intimidation and possessing a firearm. His victim was a man who had double-crossed him in a drug deal. In Sheffield he fired bullets at a car driven by a friend of the victim who was intending to sell the drugs with him. The victim was held hostage at a house in Burngreave where Khan held a gun to his head and was later driven to Middlesbrough where he had a knife held to his head by Khan. The victim managed to escape. He and his friend have each admitted possessing cannabis with intent to supply. Four other men deny conspiracy to kidnap, a woman denies possessing a firearm and perverting the course of justice and another man denies intimidation. The trial continues.

Bracknell Forest Standard
A teenager was held at gunpoint by an armed man at a shop in Sandhurst, Berkshire. The man demanded that the safe was opened but as there was no safe he asked for money from the till. The teenager said that the gun did not look real but he did not want to take the risk.

A man has been remanded in custody following an alleged firearm incident in Stockton, Teesside. He is accused of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and also faces driving charges.

Northampton Chronicle & Echo
Four men armed with a handgun, an axe, a crowbar and a stun gun threatened staff at a cash and carry store in Northampton. The manager was asked to open the safe and the men stole large quantities of cash and cigarettes.

A shot was fired from what police believe was an air rifle into the living room of a home in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. A couple were watching television at the time. The pellet went through one pane of a double glazed window.

Yorkshire Evening Post
Ian Cawood has been jailed for two years after he admitted firing an air rifle from the window of his home in Middleton, Leeds, in December 2007. A pellet from the gun lodged four centimetres deep in the back of a man. The pellet has not been removed. The shooting followed a long-running dispute between Cawood and another man who recruited the victim. He pleaded guilty to having a firearm with intent and unlawful wounding connected to the offence.

A gunshot is alleged to have been fired in Norton, Teesside. The incident took place after an argument started at a house, and a car parked outside was dented and the window smashed. A man has been charged with intent to cause alarm and distress with a firearm as well as traffic offences.

A 13-year-old boy from Wonford, Exeter, has admitted shooting a 15-year-old girl in the face with an air rifle. He pleaded guilty to assaulting the girl and inflicting actual bodily harm. His friend, who is 15, has pleaded guilty to shooting the girl in the chest, arm and leg.

Harrow Observer
A man armed with an airgun and a sword shot a member of staff in the head at a bank in Kingsbury, north west London. The man stole cash. The injured man was taken to hospital with pellet wounds to the head and received treatment. The weapons were recovered from the scene.
