A former town councillor has been arrested four times and made to move out of his home after firing an airgun at his neighbour's house and being aggressive and threatening towards other residents on a warden-controlled estate in Penwortham, Lancashire. The 74-year-old has already served a four-month curfew and a ban on walking past his neighbour's house that he was given in a previous hearing regarding his antisocial behaviour.

Police have found a shotgun during searches of open land and gardens in Liverpool, Merseyside. The weapon was removed from the residential garden and has been sent for forensic testing.

Five people have been arrested after police executed a warrant at a property in Liverpool, Merseyside. A 17-year-old sought to flee over the garden fence as officers searched the house, but he dropped a bag containing a firearm and was arrested nearby.

Armed officers were deployed after receiving reports of a man with a gun in a supermarket car park in Rhyl, Clwyd. A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Christopher Broome has been jailed for five years for possessing a stun gun disguised as a mobile phone and a lock knife at a tube station in Islington, north London. He was stopped with the weapons by a British Transport Police officer and arrested at the station.

Dean Edwards, 39, and Michael Cooper, 40, have been jailed for 15 and six years respectively for carrying out a drive-by shooting on a bar in Colchester, Essex. After Edwards was refused a free replacement drink for the one he claimed had been removed by bar staff and made to leave, the pair returned in a vehicle and circled the premises five times. They then fired a shotgun at the bar three times, narrowly missing the doorman who was on duty.

Cyril Boulton, 75, has pleaded guilty to pointing a rifle at three foresters and discharging it in front of them when they stopped him while he was hunting out of season on an estate near Dunkeld, Perthshire. He and John Roberts, 67, have each been fined £750 for knowingly killing and butchering deer out of hunting season and seeking to remove the carcasses from the estate in their truck.

Officers have recovered a firearm from the scene of an assault in Newquay, Cornwall. The victim was attacked by three men with a metal bar and was treated for cuts and bruises in hospital. Police said that the gun had not been used in the attack.


2013/3/6 Crawley News

Two robberies have been carried out by man with a gun in less than two weeks at bookmakers in Crawley, Sussex. In the first incident, a man stole £225 after threatening workers with a gun. In the second robbery, a man brandished a suspected firearm and threatened an employee before escaping with hundreds of pounds in cash, leaving the victim shaken but unhurt. Police said the raids may be connected.


2013/3/6 Knutsford Guardian

A rifle wrapped in a plastic bag has been found by a group of volunteers during a community clean-up of a wooded area in Knutsford, Cheshire. Police removed the gun and have begun an investigation.
