Armed officers were dispatched after reports that a man with a gun had entered a house on a street in Southport, Merseyside. Police arrested three men on suspicion of possessing an air rifle in a public place and confiscated the weapon.

Daniel Vincent Smedley has been jailed for five years and six months for possession of a prohibited firearm and possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs in Bournemouth, Dorset. He was arrested after a handgun, ammunition, cash, cocaine and amphetamines were found in a hotel room in the city. He has also been given a £11,558 confiscation order, which requires him to repay the value of the drugs and firearms recovered.

Dean Salvador has been ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and pay £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge for possession of a stun gun and cannabis resin in Immingham, Lincolnshire. He claimed to have bought the taser while on a stag night in Prague four years ago and never to have fired it.

A 17-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of firing an airgun at residents on a street in Limehouse, east London. A pellet narrowly missed the head of one victim, who was shot at while getting out of his car. The teenager was arrested after the victim called police to the scene and he dropped the weapon from the window. The weapon was seized and he was released with a caution.

Firearms officers were deployed to a multi-storey car park after reports of a group of people brandishing a gun in Grays, Essex. Police discovered a group of teenagers at the scene who were using an imitation handgun as a prop in a music video they were recording. The group were given a warning about the dangers of having replica guns in a public place.

A stained glass window of a church commemorating soldiers who died in WWII has been damaged after it was shot at with an airgun in Lye, West Midlands. The window was left with at least six holes in the glass which will cost between £500 and £1000 to repair.

Mark Ellis has been jailed for 12 months for stealing a car and threatening to shoot a bus driver with an imitation gun while serving a suspended sentence in Dawlish, Devon. After an argument with the driver, Ellis suggested to other passengers that he might shoot him. He had previously broken his suspended sentence by taking a car, driving it without insurance and writing it off, and taking drugs despite being under a rehabilitation order.

A 21-year-old man has allegedly been shot in the legs with a shotgun in Liverpool, Merseyside. He was found in a flat in the city and was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries were not life threatening.

Leonard Fulcher, 60, has been ordered to do 250 hours of unpaid work despite a report from the probation service recommending a jail sentence. The farmer, and former Conservative councillor, harassed and made threats to an employee at his solicitors in Fakenham, Norfolk. He told the victim he would shoot dead council workers in a “Raoul Moat-style” rampage, after he became impatient with the firm's progress in obtaining damages from the district council, who had destroyed his pig barn for an alleged lack of planning permission.

A 17-year old male has been arrested and charged after allegedly threatening another man with a gun in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. He was charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause another to believe unlawful violence would be used, affray and possession of an imitation firearm.
