Jordan Worley, aged 20, has been handed a six-month jail sentence, suspended for eighteen months, with 100 hours of unpaid community work, after admitting possession of a prohibited weapon. The court heard that Worley had been given a Taser by a friend; he had tried to charge it but it didn’t work. After he was found in possession of drugs last October, police searched Worley’s home in Darlington, Co. Durham and discovered the weapon in a bag containing old chargers and other electrical items. The judge said: "I do accept that this was more stupidity than criminality, but the public need to know: you get one of these things in your hands and it's a prison sentence, and if you have it on the streets, you go away.” |
