Mustafa Ali, aged 27, has been sentenced to eleven years in prison after being convicted of possession of a prohibited firearm, two counts of possession of ammunition, conspiracy to supply cocaine and conspiracy to supply heroin. When police raided Ali’s home in Birmingham, West Midlands, they discovered a loaded revolver and twelve rounds of ammunition in a child’s play house, as well as crack cocaine and heroin with a street value of £10,000, and £5,000 in cash. An analysis of mobile phones seized from the address enabled detectives to uncover a gang involved in dealing Class A drugs in Birmingham. The court heard that Ali played “a leading role in the operation” and recruited people who had money problems or got into drug debt. |
