Stanislav Duoba, aged 32, has been jailed for two years after admitting possession of an imitation firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon and assault of an emergency worker. In December last year, Duoba held up traffic in Doncaster, South Yorkshire while armed with an air rifle. Drivers and passengers were said to be terrified, with one woman reporting that Duoba had pointed the firearm towards her. When armed police officers responded, Duoba walked towards them with the weapon, before putting it down on the ground. The court heard that Duoba had been drunk at the time of the incident. The Recorder told him that he had been a “whisker away” from being killed on the spot, adding: “What you did carries with it a high risk of serious disorder in the street and a high risk of death, albeit your own.”
