It has emerged that, in February 2019, Simon Edkins was jailed for six years after admitting two counts each of robbery and possession of a prohibited weapon causing injury to three people as well as psychological harm. Edkins sprayed CS gas during two shop robberies in Worcester, Worcestershire in December 2018, leaving one worker fearful that he had been attacked with acid. Both he and other workers described suffering psychological effects.
