Police officers responding to reports of loud bangs at a property in Brighton, East Sussex, found shotgun shells strewn across the street. The following day, firearms officers swooped on a nearby address in search of the shooter, but he was not located. After a week on the run, the suspect was arrested in Croydon on suspicion of possession of a firearm. In addition, two women from Brighton have been arrested: one on suspicion of assisting an offender, the other on suspicion of assisting an offender and failing to comply with conditions of a shotgun certificate. A police spokesperson said that the incident had involved individuals known to one another. |
